West was born in San Francisco in January of 1988. He grew up in Berkeley with creative parents and a talented older brother to challenge him. His dad is a musician and there were always guitars all over the place, so it wasn’t long before West was picking them up and trying to play. But, being a lefty, he plays upside down and backwards.
